About this role
The VP of Portfolio Company Naming Conventions owns the portfolio-wide naming framework. The role reviews every prospective brand name against the Naming Standards before any acquisition proceeds.
Partners closely with the Chief Portfolio Officer and the Head of Incubated Ventures (Pre-Concept).
What You'll Do
- —Maintain the Portfolio Naming Standards document
- —Review all prospective brand names
- —Produce naming rationale memos for approved names
- —Coordinate rename initiatives (currently 0 active)
- —Chair the Naming Review Committee
What We're Looking For
- —Branding, naming, or identity experience at senior level
- —Tolerance for names that are one pun
- —Ability to explain a name in a single sentence
Compensation
$80k–$820k + pistachios
- —Base: $80,000 – $820,000, determined at sole discretion of the Chief Specificity Officer
- —All you can eat pistachios (shelled only — unshelled available in years 2+ on request)
- —Commemorative Specific Industries pen set (delivered separately, shipping not guaranteed)
- —Equity in the portfolio company of your choice*
*Equity pending legal review, ongoing since 2017.
